My First Beardie CHORIZO.!!

Hey guys. I've posted here before but just asking questions and getting ready. My names Tyler and this is Chorizo, my male beardie. I got him last weekend at the Reptile Super Show in Pomona. He's awesome. He has so much personality and it's funny to just watch him. As of right now, he's in a 20 gallon but he will be moving up to a custom enclosure soon. I have a Reptisun 10.0 mounted in the tank and have him with a 45 watt flood light for heat. I have him eating on dubias(which he loves), some mealies occasionally, mustard greens and collard greens. Tomorrow I'm planning on ordering Repti-Worms to try so wish me good luck. Let me know if you have any advice or any comments.

Thanks guys. But yes chorizo con egg lol I had him out with my girlfriend and we were trying to decide what to name him. And she said his colors reminded her of chorizo. And then that was it.

Such a cutie! Heehe...your name reminded me of when I used to feed Ethel dubias...I used to name the ones she would let crawl on her shoulder Huevos and/or Rancheros.

I LOVE that you have him on paper towels ......... SMART YOU!
when you upgrade, a great substrate is tile Lowes will cut it to fit your viv, and its so easy to clean and looks amazing
But some people think paper towels are easier, im just super proud you dont have the little guy on sand

WELL, Your viv looks great, and the lighting inside mounted is soooooooooooo good, you are really on top of things!! wow, keep up the awesome work!
I noticed (i think) that you have a water bowl in your viv...i personally dont keep one in BlueBelle's viv b/c i worry about bacteria, poop in water, and most of all humidity. Its totally a personal choice though! i give her daily warm baths instead. sometimes i skip a day if im super busy. Warm baths are an AWESOME bonding expirience, and the sooner you start them on nice warm soaks, the more they get used to it and hopefull grow to love them OH! and its a cool way to get your beardie to poop if they get stopped up helps with shedding too with he will be doing alot of

sdkid123: I honestly don't know what morph he is. All I know is that he's het for hypo. If somebody could possibly tell me what morph he is, that would be pretty cool

blue11: Thank you for all your praise and compliments . And yea I plan to order my Reptiworms from that site tomorrow. I can't wait to see if he likes them. They seem so much easier than other feeders! And yeah I plan to switch to tile once he moves into a bigger enclosure(thanks for the Lowe's tip). Paper towels are much easier right now. AND I KNOW. I WOULD NEVER RISK SAND AFTER HEARING ALL THESE HORROR STORIES! Thanks for the compliment on my viv. It's simple but efficient. lol. I read the lighting thread that Jess made and took her ideas. Furthermore, I do give Chorizo baths and he seems to enjoy them I just like to have a water bowl in case he gets alil parched. But thanks again for your kindness and I will for sure ask if I have any questions. This site has helped me tons so far!
