He seems to be pretty happy now.
When I got him (several months ago now so I estimate him to be a little over a year old possibly) he was small, picky with food and would hiss if you tried to touch him and in a very small sand substrate tank with just one piece of bark and one bowl.
I renamed him Jabba after he started gaining weight and after the thing he does on his favorite thing- his big rock- where he hunkers down and 'flops', and because I noticed he really just likes to be lazy a lot on his rock. I gave him a better substrate (it's basically a washable rug of astro-turf looking stuff), and he kept his piece of bark, and got him better, bigger reptile rock bowls. He stopped hissing at people and likes to skitter across our hardwood floor or will lay in bed with my son and watch him play video games (I really think he likes watching the motion on the tv). He licks EVERYTHING. People, floor, his tank, his rock, anything he can get his nose close to. He's got an attitude still and is very picky about food. He'll walk across my keyboard if I don't pay attention to him while he's sitting on my desk. And he likes to go visit the local pet stores with me when I go to buy food. He hates his harness and leash but likes riding in my car. He'll worm around and climb on me until I put him on the dash because that's his favorite spot in the car. He sits in the middle of my dash on my radar detector with his nose pressed firmly to the windshield glass and watches cars go by. He gets a LOT of double takes from people in cars near us at red lights.
