Hello,

I have a female that has follicles, I was told to get children’s play sand put it in a big tote box and add warm-hot water.. form a mound and put her in there with her light over it & just let her go to town. I had a smaller box with sand and it seemed like she did fine, beside laying eggs in it she’d just jump in and out of it lol but I just want to make sure I’m actually able to do this? I just bought 2 bags of play sand so hopefully so, otherwise I’ll have to figure out something else. Thanks for the help! :)

Plain topsoil that doesn't have any type of chemicals or fertilizers in it, mixed with sand, etc. Be sure it is at least 10-12 inches deep & that the mix is damp enough to where it will hold up to her making a burrow but not sopping wet to have standing water

Will the coconut fiber soil be fine?

Ooops, sorry I never got to this ! You can mix sand + eco earth , mix in enough water so it is easy for her to dig a cave that will hold it's shape. If it starts drying out [ like if she doesn't lay eggs for a week or more ] then you can always add more warm water. How is she doing ? You say she's laid eggs in a smaller box before ? If so is there a reason you want a larger box ?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
