So around 3 or 4 months ago, I picked up a beautiful tanish baby bearded dragon who inside of her enclosure, looked completely healthy. I brought her home and cared for her for a few weeks and realized she has small hard bump right underneath her left front leg. I honestly have no clue what it is, all i know is that all around it the skin is yellow in color, and it hasnt spread to any other region on her, or any other dragon i have. It also doesnt seem to bother her when it is touched, and it doesnt seem to be causing her any distress or incomfort, but i do not want this to turn into anything else. Please reply with further information
It could be yellow fungus possibly. You can be proactive & get some anti-fungal cream such as monistat or lamisil & apply it daily. Also, get some betadine & dilute it down until it looks like weak tea & bathe him in it to clean his skin.
How is his appetite doing?
She eats like a machine, pounds down at least 50 crickets at a time and loves collards and endive, to be perfectly honest if she didnt have this yellow spot, she wouldnt seem ill at all whatsoever.
That is terrific she has such a great appetite then. I would go ahead & treat for the fungus just to be on the safe side right now.
I am happy she is doing so well! Please keep us posted on her.
She just finished her first iodine bath and she didny really enjoy it, but got used to it quickly. I went out and bought a soft bristle toothbrush and started rubbing the infected area while she was being bathed. It literally started to peel off, so im thinking that this treatment is working well, thank you to everyone whos helped, both me and Saphirra thank you dearly
Hi there....is there a health food store nearby or a beekeeper ? If so, get a small bottle of unpasteurized honey and apply some to that area. It's a great antibacterial/antibiotic/antifungal. If it's very thick you can mix it with a bit of warm water + apply with a Q-tip.
