Someone told me a yellow basking bulb is bad for bearded dragons and they should have a bright white light instead, is that true? It’s not specifically yellow just like a normal incandescent flood light that has a yellow/orange-ish light.

Yes you want a bright white basking bulb - you want to mimic the sun - it needs to be able to keep basking temps to what they need to be 95-100 for a adult / juvie dragon taken w/ a digital probe thermometer - the bright white provides UVA which is what your dragon needs -- off white yellowish bulbs do not do that

I see okay I’ll get one as soon as I can. In the meantime is he still able to digest his food correctly? I would hate if this is why he’s been eating so poorly. Basking temp is fine (110 because he’s a baby) but is the UVA vital to his digestion or will he be fine for a day or so until I get the bulb?

He will be fine for a day or two but get it switched out as soon as you can and yes it's going to effect the appetite

Hello,

Definitely, as suggested, upgrade to a bright white basking light. It helps to protect the eyes
also, from UVB. He will become much more active with brighter light, too.
