I was searching for a natural looking non-adhesive shelf liner for my bearded dragon setup when I came across this cork liner. I'm just concerned about any risk factors this cork liner may have. What are your opinions on this? Is there a better option?
Cork is very water resistant. It has plenty of grip. I can see it absorbing some heat. The only downside to it that I can think of is maybe some pee/poop gets absorbed. But that is the case for news paper, reptile carpet, etc. With regular cleaning and replacement I don't see that being an issue. It's cheap enough to be replaced often.
As long as it is replaced often you could probably use it. I would be concerned with your little guy's nails being caught in the cork itself, but i dont think that would happen too often as he would have to push in pretty good or claw at it. Allthough it is water resistant remember that is not water proof, so it would just be a matter of keeping maintenance up on it.
It might be worth trying. That cork leather is interesting actually. My concern would be durability and if it collects debris/poo. I use cork bark decor and love it, I've not used it as flooring though. Cork is supposed to have anti-microbial properties as well.
