Hi, I just got a new Beardie last night.
She is maybe 2 months old, haven't measured her.
But she has not eaten or been drinking at all, nor have I seen any poop.
She just sleeps all day.
The breeder gave me mealworms because
he says that is what he has been giving her,
but reading on here I guess you are not supposed to?

Also, he said she is a runt or i guess
hatched last and said she is sort of slow?
Could this be part of it?

Ok calm down

The reason your beardie could not be eating is simply relocation stress, nothing more :)

With sleeping, what are your temps in the viv? when the temp gets too low my little guy goes to sleep .

As for mealworms they are high in chitin which can cause impaction, so maybe try with crickets , it might take a while but be patient :)

Being the runt doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, it just means your little one is a bit smaller, but in terms of care everything should be the same :)

If it helps, i always worry about my beardie no matter what :p

Thank you very much.

It is probably not warm enough.
She was kind of pushed onto me last minute
and I wasn't expecting her for another month,
so all I have is a red night bulb and no thermometers.
I have been keeping that on to try to keep her warm,
and I place her under the sun and kind of rely on the 100 degree weather in LA right now.

Im not going to be able to get the other bulbs and supplies for a week.
Do you think I can keep her warm enough till then?

Not a problem , i had to search for ages for answers before i discovered this site, so i am happy to offer help if i can :D as for the heating issue, the red night bulb may do as an emergency basking lamp for now, if possible you could go to a hardware sotre and grab a normal 75/100 watt bulb and that could work

If the weather is like you described then luck could be on your side, put your little guy in a box, with high enough sides so he cant scramble out, then put him in the sun ,obviously stay with him there if it is possible, and they can absorb UVB that way, ideally you want to keep them out there for bout 4-5 hours at least, as when they get back into the viv they wont have anymore light until the next day, so the longer the better :D

Anything else you arent sure about message me and i will try and help you

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
