Should I be concerned that the closest Herp vet in my area promotes the optimal basking temperatures for beardies to be 88-95 degrees? This seems a little low based on the info I get from this board. I got his name from the Herp Vet Connection ??? :?
is the basking temp the only thing you've found that is "off" about the care sheet? if its more than that, i wouldnt trust 'em personally. if the temps are the only thing wrong about the care sheet, maybe you could refer him/her to this board :dontknow:
If he is suggesting walnut shell substrate...I would look for another vet and quick. Walnut shell substrate can not only impact them, especially with less then optimal temps, but the sharp edges of the shells can cut him internally on the way down and lead to internal lacerations. That is not the advice I would want to get from someone who is supposed to know how to care for my pet.
