My wife and I have purchased this log product for our bearded dragon's tank. Do you know if it is safe? I worry about my little dragon buddy eating wood or something on it and getting sick/constipated. Has anyone used one of these and if yes, was it safe?
That's a habba hut. They tend to work pretty well. I've used one for years and haven't run into any problems. If they get soiled you can rinse them off well and bake them in the oven (still wet) to sanitize at around 250 for 30 min or so and then let them cool completely.
I use HUBBAHUTS , jumbo size for my BTs and adult bearded dragons, and small size for my water skinks.
I've been using the product for about 4 years now and they are good.
I like them more than the plastic alternative.
Make sure you pull the staples completely out, I recall someone a few years ago who had a pet reptile who had a very nasty gash / cut on it's tummy from a staple piece that was left in the timber. Those are razer sharp.
I simply give the tops and sides a good blast with hose on the lawn when soiled , let dry in the sun , and then give the top and sides a spray with F10sc 1:250 dilution and let it air dry.
