My baby bearded dragon will not touch his crickets or salad or worms ( even though i know they're bad for them at his age.. i was desperate) he will drink from a syringe sooo maybe baby food? nothing i do seems to faze him and all he wants to do is sit and bask or sleep. ?!?@!?#!@?#?!@?#
he's about 7 weeks old. has all the right lights and temps. can get within 8 inchs of uvb
I have no idea what else to do or change... ?@?@@?@??@?@?@
what is his poop like?
Im not really sure what else to do for this little guy..
You could try pm a MOD, they would probably be more help..
Sorry i couldn't have been more help..
You could try the babyfood, yes. You can use chicken or turkey babyfood and mix it with some squash babyfood. Adding a small pinch of calcium will be beneficial as well. Try syringe feeding him this and see if he'll take it.
Let us know how it works out.
Sorry to hear that your baby isn't doing well. Are you bathing him at least 3 to 4 times a wk? What type of thermometer are you using? How often are you dusting with calcium and vitamins? Has he had a poop lately?
Keep pushing the baby food, babies can't go very long without protein so he really needs to get some chicken and squash baby food into him, it's very important.
ok well i live in aus so i cant get that acurite thermometer in stores, but i do have 2 different sorts with probes so i can tell they are both right. and yeah im bathing him just in warmish water.. that's alright yeah? i dust with calcium every second feed.. not that he eats them anyways. and im always putting it in the baby food mix. yeah he has done poos they look alright, well from what i have seen to compare it too it looks ok? =/
This is going to sound ridiculous. But I have one minor suggestion..
Try getting a baby spoon for feeding him the baby food, and play the air plane game.
I've had to do this, (I've even included the sounds for my own amusement) I'll dab a little on his lip, or drip a little on to the tip of his tounge, and then move the spoon around infront of him making irratic movemets. enough to spark him to want to puff up, get his eyes focused on the new "enemy" and then he'll lunge for it and usually gets a nice big bite of the food.
The times I've fed baby food, its taken me a good patient half hour, and I just let it be the game it has to be.
I wish I could suggest more, but thats the baby food feeding method that works for me, so I thought maybe it would help.
thats almost the idea, not give the guy a heart attack, but if he'll lunge at it by being spooked, he'll get a mouthful of the food. it usually takes the one bite and then they've caught on.
