okay so my mom(not listening to me when i told her NOT to listen to the ppl tht work at petco) bought a bunc of the wrong stuff when i first got tiki. one of these things was a container of a couple hundred baby mealworms(i feed my baby minimealies the ones from minimealworms.com.. the safe ones) and they said to keep refrigerated. well last week i accidentally left the cntainer in my drawer and found it today. thise half inch babies are now huge almost 2 inch long worms its crazy! i also had a q. im going to the expo sunday in white plains and want to get something.. different to feed. im gonna prob buy crix since they are cheaper there but i want something else too. any suggestions??
silkworms are really healthy, but are a lot more expensive than crickets. hornworms are good for hydrating, but they grow huge really quickly. butterworms are high in calcium but they're fatty, so should only be fed as a treat.
silkworms are really a great staple feeder, but are a lot more expensive than crickets in both care and cost of the worm itself. hornworms are good for hydrating, but they grow huge really quickly. butterworms are high in calcium but they're fatty, so should only be fed as a treat.
doublepost? think they will have silkies at the expo? 4i at the moment have 400 dollars to blow at the expo. idk how much ill be spendiing on the dragon im getting itsself but im sure ill have well over 100 left lol. im probably getting a hypo snow or yellow from sunshine dragons i have already contacted them so im gonna email them now and ask what they think the cost will be so i know how much i have to blow on other stuff i wish i had more than 400 but hey, how many 15 yr olds kids have 400 dollars to blow at an expo? not many lol.
ugh. sorry about that, i didn't even notice.
i'm sure there will be someone selling some silkies. might be able to get them at a decent price, too.
you're pretty lucky that you have $400 blow; i only have $40, and by tomorrow that will be much less.
Being as you are so young you could ask your parents about starting a Dubia colony. After a few months you would be able to feed both of you dragons out of the colony and never have to buy feeders again. Also your mom will not have to go to the pets store for you only to return with the wrong thing! Do some searching for Dubia on the forum. After 4 months my colony was feeding my 2 dragons, 10 leopard geckos, water dragon, and 9 different frogs. I have not purchased feeders in over a year now with both a superworm and dubia colony. I have to sell some of my feeders every month to keep the colonies under control!
