she seems to think my bearded dragon doesn't like her and that she will get bitten if she holds her. my bearded dragon has never shown any aggression towards my mam or anyone else. I keep telling her she wont bite her but she just wont listen.
My mom hasn't seen Izzy yet but she's not a reptile person so I wasn't surprised she said she wasn't holding Iz.. I am however hoping she will come around and hold Izzy.. I've had a few people say they are no longer coming to my house, jokingly of course, lol..
My mom used to be terrified of bandit till one day I just put her on her lol I don't recommend that but it got her fear over bandit when I refused to take her off until she petted her

I actually did that earlier but she just started shouting at me to get her off cause she was going to bite her. she has no problems holding my gerbils and they are super jumpy
My mom is terrified of my beardie. I don't live at home so it isn't such a big deal, but I do bring him down when I visit. She is okay with me bringing him as long as he stays in the basement. They turn the heat up for him and he stays in a big rubbermaid bin with a clamp lamp and all his cage furniture. I don't love the idea of him staying down there but he doesn't mind it and I don't want to argue with her since she is legitimately scared of him. She has a hard time even looking at him lol.
Hahahahaha okay so my mom is just like this too... i didn't know she was scared of him until the other day when i asked her to hold him for me while i went to the bathroom... I had him like right in her face and when she realized what was there she screamed and begged me to get him away from her... i thought she liked him because she always come and checks on him and talks to him and likes watching him hunt down his crickets... but then i asked her to just pet him and she swore she wouldn't because she didn't know how he felt... she used to have a snake so i was surprised she was scared of him.. she said she couldn't tell if it would feel like a snake or an alligator or a porcupine... i kept laughing at how scared she was of him and he is just a little baby! I finally got her to pet his tail and then she pet his back without me asking... so that's a start...then she covered her hands in hand sanitizer... i was proud of her hahahaha but she is still convinced he wants to eat her.
Lol i have never had any of these problems with my mom. My mom grew up with reptiles and birds and so did I. My mom cuddles with my dragons and loves to play with them. She hates the bugs though
My mom and sister both think Zero is gross and they've only seen pictures. My mom thinks the only real pets are cats and dogs. She refused every time I asked for birds, rats, nice, hamsters, snakes, and beardies.
Some people just aren't reptile people. When I took Trogdor to the vet the other day the nurse there couldn't even bring herself to lift him out of his carrying case to put him on the scale. He's just a little baby and she works with animals for a living - I thought it was pretty funny.
My mom was nervous about Noodle until she realized how cute her personality is so she actually picked her up and petted her she isn;t still sure about her though but that was a big start
When i had my first beardie I was still married, and the beardie was about a year and a half old. My ex loved to look at it, but would never hold it. She tolerated it when I had it out but never once held it. She'd pet it here and there, but that's it. And she was never ever happy about crickets. She complained about them constantly. Might be part of the reason she is my ex lol.
