I now have a well established dubia colony. My beardie has been eating roaches for several months now. Suddenly, he ONLY eats the freshly molted ones
I can't say that I blame him because they are so soft, but how far does the slavery go? I tried to get him to eat a brown roach for 10 minutes the other day and he just kept giving me the beardie glare. When I dropped a few white ones in his viv, he had them down in a matter of seconds. Am I the only person having this problem? A few months ago, someone posted about having this issue and I thought "man, that sucks for them" and now here I am.
Tried that one already. I even tested this theory by dusting 2 or 3 regular brown ones and dusting a white one. He went straight for the white one and left the others.
Hi, do you also feed other insects? It seems to me that some variation should do. Be honest: you wouldn't want to eat the same on a daily basis as well  .

I could eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches all day everyday
I have tried to mix it up a bit. I need to get more hornworms. He really likes those, he just gets super runny poop. The past two weeks we had dubia, crickets, superworms, and butterworms. That last time I tried silkworms he wouldn't touch them.
