White band on the tail.

Hey everyone, this is my bearded dragon Boogieman. He’s around 5 years old, and I recently noticed a white band around his tail. When I got back from vacation two days ago, I saw that about a centimeter of his tail seemed to have chipped or dried off. He’s still active, scurrying around the house, but his eating habits are a bit inconsistent—one day he won’t eat, and the next he’ll eat just fine. There’s no blood or pus, just a solid white area, could it be tail rot? Stress? and I’ve never seen anything like this before.

It very well could be . Try to find a good reptile vet that has experience with beardies. Something like this needs amputation up above the white band. Amputation itself is not hard on them at all, with quick recovery.

Hello,

He must have had some retained shed somehow, or caught it in between something to make it raw.
A vet should definitely be able to get this taken care of easily. He will be just fine & it's a very simple
procedure.
You could put some raw unpasteurized honey on it, while waiting to get him to a vet.
