Hi,
I’ve had Yuyinski for almost 4 years now, as you can see he is awesome! Quick question, for the last few months (3-4 months) I’ve noticed that his skin has been turning white around the eyes (see picture). Not sure if it’s normal that with age skin has some change in color. Or if it’s a sign of lack of nutrients or dehydration.
I noticed he is active and all, but not as much as he used to.
I give him calcium and multivitamins 2 - 3 times a week. He eats well, normally eats insects 3-4 times a week (mainly roaches) and greens (he has available every day). He poops almost daily. Everything looks “ok” except that he is not as active and the white around the eyes -
I may be exaggerating, but it’s just that “the white”around his eyes concerns me because it’s like more and more as weeks go by. Any thoughts? Is this normal?
Not sure but it could be just coloring---- I would recommend you change your substrate to something that is not loose -- to much of a impaction risk- you can get some non adhesive shelf liner from any home improvement store for cheap or ceramic slated tile --- also from any home improvement store-- both are easy to clean w/ vinegar/ water 50-50 in a spray bottle and insects cannot get underneath
