I wasn't getting updates either but they were going into my junk the whole time. Strange as I have been a member for 2 yrs.

I just got one, and I check my junk daily, some of my mail that I need, like from school keeps ending up there ><

The soak would be okay, we used to soak are turtles in it at work,

you can always get a curved tip feeding syringe and just place it between his lips and slowly give him the pedialyte that way, he should start to drink it that way

Kudos to you for taking responsibility for this guy! He does look like a sweetie and in no time will be full of piss and vinegar! I'll also talk to the boss to see what I can do to aid in the funding of this guy's medical treatment. Could you please post a fresh link? After 19 pages I don't know where to find it. Or PM me... Thanks!

I am so glad your vet is open tomorrow!
Please get the pay pal thing straightened out, I believe more people want to donate. Maybe someone could put a link on the main page so there is more exposure??
I don't see how he is so emaciated if they were feeding him pinky mice, maybe there is something else going on besides malnourishment?

Here is the link for anyone who wishes to donate money towards Rocky's medical needs. If you are just now seeing this post.. Morgan(TASTIGER) has rescued this poor beardie from a horrible situation. Rocky is in need of veterinary care and the bills are going to start pouring in. Morgan has been an angel so far in the rescuing efforts and could use our help.
All donations are greatly appreciated!
Thank You! :D

I would probably not soak him in the pedialyte. He may absorb some but his body won't be able to process the electrolytes. At least that is what I would think - maybe Tracie can verify. I can't wait to hear what the vet says! Let us know how much more $$ you need as well. I'm sure they will give him fluids and from there he will probably be more willing to take some by mouth.

I was wondering do you know where to get the curved tip syringes? I have been looking for these for awhile!

I've been following this thread for about the last 10 pages... Poor Rocky, I'm so glad he's in better hands!! Thank you for rescuing him.

Anyway, I wanted to share some info that you might find helpful, regarding soaking him in something a little more "potent" than water. Something I've heard recommended very often in tortoise care, when it comes to sickly hatchlings, especially those that won't/aren't strong enough to eat, is to mix baby food into the water and soak them in that. Carrot is the common recommendation, for the vitamin A content, since eye problems are common in sick baby torts--maybe it'd be good for Rocky, too, since he's having eye troubles.

Another idea is to mix liquid bird vitamins into the water. Either one should help in getting some extra nutrients into him.

Hope it helps. I'll see if I can spare a few dollars for the rescue fund, too. :)

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
