Hello I have a T5 10.0 HO UVB light. It is above screen which is wide metal not screen. My question is...do I place the fixture in the center? Diagonal? Along back? It has reflector. How far does the rays come out width wise? How far should my dragon be from light ? Below are pics of my 75 gal tank and lighting. Left side of tank—-Purple light is just regular household non heat light black lamp is basking bulb(105 degrees below). UVB bulb diagonal. R side of tank—black light daytime heat lamp(temp 85-90 on that side) metal lamp is nighttime heat(off in day)
Of all the pictures, the last one looks to be the best placement. You want the uvb source biased towards the hot side, and over the basking surface. That way the basking surface is the hottest area and has the highest uv. This also allows a natural uv gradient from higher to lower in conjunction with your temperature gradient.
