I can relate. I'm a full time college student with a 13 hour a week job. I'm gonna start a dubia colony with the money I was going to use on a bulk shipment of crickets. $45 for 250 small roaches, one adult pair, 1lb of chow, 2 dry oz of water crystals and a 10"x10" screen for the the tote. Since Bane is still little and only eating 15-20 small crickets a day right now, I figure he'll only down a couple roaches and crickets a day, leaving me enough time to start the breeders. I'll still have to go get him crickets every week, though. Luckily I have built some relations with the workers at the Petsmart I buy from. I ask for 3 dozen and I get at least 50 haha.
Up until this week I would have said that the cricket keeper has worked great for me. I have a large for bigger crickets and a small for the smaller crickets for my leopard gecko. However, this week I have found more loose crickets than I have seen in the previous 2 1/2 years that I have been keeping crickets!
I buy 80-100 at a time. It saves on waste, but I may start ordering larger quantities to get them cheaper.
