How do I know when a little bearded dragon is full? We have fed her about 7 crickets today. It's her first day home with us, but she was a little plump in the tank, she might be older than the rest of them. Not sure her exact age. Do we keep offering crickets until she refuses? Is it possible to over feed?
It is not possible to overfeed babies. They should be allowed to eat as many crickets as they want in a 15 minute period 3x a day. Many hoover down close to 100 over the course of the day. They need tons of protein to grow. Since you just brought her home, however, it may take a while for her to get up to numbers like that, but she'll be eating you out of house and home soon enough.
Great! Thanks for the advice, so just put her in a smaller feeding tank with many crickets, and remove her after 15 minutes? Adding more if she eats all of those? Is that the best way to go?
