At what point is it okay to feed super/meal worms to you bearded dragon? What age should they be? Could I give a super/meal worm as a treat? If so how often, once a day? :?:
All three of my BD's are still on crickets.Sapphire":1qrcc1p5 said:What is your main feeder? Reptiworms/phoenix worms are a great treat.
They don't really care for the dragon bites, I have tried them.Sapphire":1b52fqbp said:Definitely look into reptiworms. Check out the "for sale" forum, Reptiworms has a thread there with prices and a link to his website. They're a soft-bodied larva that's naturally loaded with calcium. Supposedly the "best" feeder available for beardies now because of the proper Ca ratio. My only advice is that if you get large size ones, be careful how long you keep them at room temp before feeding them... I wasted an entire container of 250 worms because after 2-3 weeks, they started turning into soldier flies. The flies are harmless and are safe to feed to your beardies, but I didn't want to open the container and let them escape into my apartment.... So I just got rid of them.
Also, dubia roaches are a possible treat.
If you want, you can also use fruits and veggies as treats, or try nature zone bearded dragon bites.
