So i have a 3-4 month old baby beardie he is awesome and i named him puff. Now he's a little bigger so i've tried to handle him a couple times but he seems to want to explore everything and i just get nervous he's going to get hurt on something. I took him out sat on the couch and he just jump strait out and landed on the floor , then just took off running like crazy! This happend twice and i was able to catch him easily and softly. Maybe it is too early to handle him?? I'd say he is about 7 - 8 inches long. Also from what i read i think he may be a she...puffette?
Congrats on your baby! As far as handling him/her, Just keep trying! The more often you handle him/her, the more comfortable he/she will be. Our Puff ( same name!) who is 3 years old, isn't a big fan of being handled, but if we take him out in the evening when he is tired he is much easier to handle and will even cuddle up with us. Just keep at it!
I second that! Keep trying and you will be rewarded!
My baby, Percival, is still tiny he's about 9 weeks old and is about 10cms long from heat to tip. I think I'm pretty lucky to have gotten him, hand reared from hatchling and he's always been very easy for me to handle.
At first i was also very cautious because they can really move when they want to but he seemed to be reluctant to run amock almost shy. so I started with just holding him on my finger at first and then later was confident enough to take him onto the bed. Then he started running about and would then come back to me when he was overwhelmed. Until he learned that he could climb down the blankets on the bed and jump. He's really brave now! But always comes back to me
