I have a Showcase Cage, and it has a slightly raised area on one side for a heating pad (I'm not using a heat pad). So tiles don't lie flat. If you have a Showcase Cage, what do you use for flooring?
That might be an option. I'll have to try it. I'm wondering if maybe I don't need any flooring, per se. The floor is kinda smooth, but not slippery like glass, so maybe he'll be okay without any special flooring.
Sorry for the ignorance, but what is a showcase cage? I built my cage in Dec. and used the 12x12 vinyl flooring stick tiles in dessert color. I don't have them sealed on the bottom so I can remove them for good cleaning. It is easy to cut and is bendable. I love it because it is easy to clean.
Please tell me what a showcase cage is. I don't see a picture, do you have one?
Thanks,
I don't have a photo of mine, because it's not set up yet, but here's a link to the website (I hope this is allowed here): http://www.showcasecages.com/
My husband and I are not handy at all, and after looking at some plans for a homemade one, we decided to just buy one and be done with it, lol. I wish we were handy and interested in making our own stuff. I really think the homemade ones in many cases are prettier than the ones you can buy, BUT I do LOOOVE the look of the Showcase Cages. Mine is the Dessert Granite color. It is really a very nice cage. Expensive, but nice, imo.
I'm not sure what you mean either but if you mean the floor slopes you could use non adhesive shelf liner for the entire floor or use half tile half & liner. I did this with one of my viv's.
I'm building a new viv now, I will use vinyl floor (the sticky one) for the base and will put slate/natural rock.
At first I want to install slate tile, I found one at home depot. They were pretty cheap, but they won't cut them. Fortunately last Sunday me and my husband and I found a nice thin and flat shape rocks on the side of the river nearby our house.... so we borrow them (I hate to admit that I steal them from nature).
Hopefully this will works out well for Bill, mu dragon.
Wow,
Those showcase cages are really nice. Mine is just like that but without the crown molding framing in the front. Those are beautiful and I am sure your beardie will love you forever. What we do, and spend, for out little four legged family members.
Good Luck!
