I'm having trouble figuring out what type of beardeds I own I tried researching on the internet to find out their classifications and such on line but it's difficult because they almost look like they could be both cross breeds.
the smaller one is female her name is Inga (she's shedding right now on her tail) and the larger one is male his name is Dr. Frankenstein
Hi Eve, they are what would be considered normal/standard beardies unless they have totally clear nails [ hypo ] or solid black eyes [ transluscent morph ] But from these pics it doesn't look like it.
They are both just a bit thin, but not much. Dr. Frank looks really huge though..... what is his length ?
Dr. Frankenstein is about 22 almost 23 inches long and they're a little thin i think because my tank was cold and they went into hibernation for a little while until I got the correct heat bulbs back in. their eyes aren't solid and neither are their nails they both have a greyish almost black stripes in the center
O.K, they are normals then....and Frank is a big boy. It's always best to keep them in separate enclosures, some males constantly want to breed and the females can get stressed + run down.
I've had Dr. For almost two years and Inga I rescued her in July from a pet shop she was so small, skinny and pale. I couldn't pass her up and leave her there. When I brought her home in a few weeks her color actually started to look better and shes grown three times her size than when I first got her. The almost same thing happened to Dr. Although he wasn't skinny and small but he had a broken toe from the cloth substrate they had in the enclosure. Pet stores can be so negligent sometimes.
