I have been thinking of moving mine to the living room, but we have a piano and the tv with surround sound in there - and the only place is next to the piano. This made me wonder about noise and reptiles / bearded dragons. It seems like the noise of the piano, or a loud movie, would be distressing. Is this the case?
And also curious in general as to where you put your enclosure.
Im curious of this as well I don't currently have a beardie but I am getting things set up and I have moved the enclosure into our family where we hang out, and where the tv is. I can't imagine having a beardie in a room where i didn't see them that often throughout the day. I can't wait to get a little guy or gal.
My enclosure is in the living room. It's a good place both for him and for us because it's the center of all the action. Dragons are curious and like to interact with people (most of the time) and their people like to interact with them =). I have a record player and stereo in the living room and noise has never been a problem. My dragon is often out of his tank in the evening when I listen to music or watch TV and he just falls asleep on my chest. In general, noise doesn't seem to bother them at all from what I've seen.
When my first guy was young, we had him in my bedroom. I was a teenager and spent most of my time in there so it made sense. When I moved out and brought him to live with me, we put him in the living room for three reasons... Firstly, that's where I am most of the time when I'm home and I can keep an eye on them, and secondly, having it in the bedroom meant the light came on in the morning... I got used to it, but my boyfriend never did. Thirdly! There's no room anywhere else, really.
I don't know, I just like being able to walk by the tank and say hi or talk to them!
