What is your preferred substrate and why?

As the question asks, what and why do you use the substrate you use for your Beardie's and/or your URO's?

I use tile for my dragon. Its cheap, easy to clean and looks nice. I've also used shelf liner before, liked it but it could stain if the poo wasn't cleaned up soon enough.
I've chosen not to grout the tile in the viv so I can remove it as needed to wash.

I use a slate tile, looks better than carpet, retains some heat, and ease of cleaning (I just wipe up the fecals)..I hear it helps file nails down but I have not seen it as affective as a trimming..

I use slate tile too! It was about $1.00 a square foot at my local hardware store. I just wipe it down/pick up poo daily and use a shop vac every now and then usually when they are in the bath to get and loose stuff(poo,shed skin, bug legs, ect.).
