What is happening with my bearded dragon? Why is she moving like that.

Hello, my bearded dragon is most likely gravid. So, I was giving her some repti-boost because she was not eating well. I let her lap it up with her tongue. I sprayed her afterward because she got real dirty. I think it might of upset her. Then she started moving her leg weird. And moving her arm real far back. Somewhat like a digging motion. Scooting across the floor. She looked itchy sometimes too. She was walking perfectly fine until then. And I believe she walked up to her basking fine now. I’m not sure what just happened. I don’t think I’ll do the reptiboost anymore I’m just having a lot of trouble getting her to eat this time. It started with her kicking her legs after I sprayed her.

Hi there, Cole is looking great ! They do that funny scratching motion when they get sprayed sometimes. They usually like the sensation and sometimes it may be a bit ticklish. :)
Ok, thank you very much. It was going on for a few minutes. Should I not give repta-boost anymore? Or just not spray her so much after it? I don’t think I’ll give anymore for today. But, I might be able to give her some when she is digging more because the sand usually cleans her face. I only got her to eat 2 crickets and a hornworm today. She’s not eating as much as the other times she was gravid so I’m not sure how I can keep her hydrated. I’ve never been able to give her water by dropping it on her nose either.

It's fine if she laps it up. Eating less is normal, remember that is how she did in the past so even if it's a little less it is sufficient.
Ok, thank you very much! I think she lapped it up. I put in on her nose and then she licked it. Sometimes I put in on her tongue. But only when her tongue was sticking out. I just want to make sure she is hydrated because she isn’t really heavy digging right now or anything. She dug once today and once yesterday. But her appetite has been pretty bad since Sunday.

I always got the impression they think they are swimming. Zen used to walk through his fresh greens and do that, also if I used a wet cloth to wipe his floor mat and he got to where it was damp he'd do it.

Hello,

Yes, that is classic behavior! It seems to me that she is close to laying, as AHBD stated. She wont eat much towards the end of her
phase before laying her eggs.

Is it ok that she keeps licking the sand if she is not eating well. I don’t want her to eat more sand than food. Shell just lick a spot sometimes and sand gets on her tongue. I noticed occasionally she’ll randomly swallow. After licking the sand. And not having anything to do with sand. I don’t think it’s that frequent. Is that normal? Or is it like sand in her mouth?

They have very sticky tongues so it may well get stuck to her tongue. Kai is on loose substrate too and I really go back and forth about it in my mind. On the one hand, Ive never seen him eat it, but there is always that possibility. On the other hand, he loves to dig and rearrange it so I really hesitate to take all that enrichment away from him.

Ok, thank you very much!!! I definitely do think she gets some with her tongue because I can see her swallow afterward. She likes to lick places as she’s running around.
