I am having some concerns with my beardie.
He is just over a year old and was eating 25-30 crickets a day.
I recently changed him over to Roaches, which he was eating about 4-8 and acting as if loved them.
He would also tear up his collard/dandy/parsley salads fairly well too.
I made a new viv for him and he stopped eating. I figured this would pass, but it hasn't. I have a vet appointment for sat to do a fecal and checkup.
The thing is though... he wont touch his salad now. Also, he wont eat pineapple, apple, kiwi, strawberries, blackberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew or yellow squash, at all.
If i hand feed him a roach, he MAY eat 1 for the day. I was getting very worried so I went to the local pet store and got a few crickets in hopes he was just not liking the roaches. He was uninterested to say the least. (he looked at it then looked away.. the damn cricket climbed on his face and he shook it off).
Now... if i put a superworm on the other side of his viv.... he will bolt at it and gobble it up.
Will he eventually get hungry enough to eat a roach if that is the only thing offered? Is this safe/ok to do?
unfortunately I don't have an answer but I can say that I am VERY upset and sad right now I recently bought crickets for my beardie and I was feeding him those and I tried supers and now he is not eating his crickets either. I'm a little worried but I hope it will pass away!
I get mine from Mullberry Farms as well, I order 500 at a time when I get hornworms or silkworms....I have a huge Dubia colony right now and I always try to offer roaches first but mine prefer supers too...
