I got Drogon on Sunday. It's a 20 gallon with under tank heater, hide, carpet, basking wood and hammock, calcium powdered mealworms, crickets and collared greens. We also have a 100w basking bulb, uvb bulb (and another uvb light that is on top that we're going to hook inside once we get the command hooks). We also have a temp gun (reads about 106 for basking spot). Two digital thermometers- cool side reading 76 and hot side reading 86... both seem low but could be false readings? We have a humidity thermometer coming in the mail. He's shedding on his tail, more tired than usual and hasn't eaten today. We gave him a 20 minute bath in 95 degree water. He's pooped regularly. We've heard so much conflicting information about enclosures and food. We just want to make sure we're doing it right. Does everything look ok to y'all? Food and enclosure wise?
Looks good except for the green hammock. They are known to cause broken legs, toes and pulling toes off, because beardies will get their claws hung in them and do themselves damage when trying to get it free.
There are some on the market made of a more solid material that doesn't have that effect.
PS. Do not feed babies or juvies mealworms, they can cause impaction, this you do NOT want.
