Hey guys, I will be going out of town in a couple of days for about three days and I don't know what to do with my beardie, Matilda. I've thought about boarding her but the vets closest to me don't have very good reviews and I don't want to risk her not making it back. I've spoken to relatives and they all said that they can come to check on her but will not feed her. I've also thought about bringing her with me but I don't want to take the chance of accidentally leaving her somewhere. For her to stay home would I just fill her tank with a lot of veggies and bugs and have someone check on her?
P.S- Matilda is 8 months old, with a reptisun T5 linear bulb, and heat ranges from 90-115 degrees F. Her tank is 55 gallons and she is currently in shed (if that makes any difference)
Hi Anie, if Matilda is a healthy dragon she will be fine if you just feed her extra the day before and put some high quality beardie pellets or can 'o crickets [ I think Zoo Med makes them ] for her. At 8 months old they would have zero problem even if they had nothing so you really don't have to worry. BTW, a high temp. of 105 rather than 115 is fine, cool end around 80.
