I've explained before what's going on with Nova. She hasn't wiggled today but is still frantically pacing and glass surfing and she's been doing these little almost non existent poops and this last one looks concerning.. does it look normal or am I just going out of my mind.? The exotic vet has been so busy lately, it's been impossible to get in to see any of the three exotic vets here.

It does appear to have mucus but being gravid messes with them. With the glass surfing and such I'd be surprised if she doesn't lay in the next couple days.
@AHBD might can tell you more about that particular poop.

I agree with xp, this can be attributed to her being gravid. Sounds like she's hyper as the time for laying gets near and just like humans, dogs, cats can have some extra loosey poops in times of stress so can beardies. No need for a vet, just be sure she has proper laying conditiond [ lay box ] Offer a little water if she hasn't been eating or drinking but this is all normal.

She took a bath the other day and drank some then but she either drank too much or too fast because she started coughing a bit.

But while I've got you here, what's your opinion on this.? Xp29 (I can't remember his real name😂) and Tracie said they do that right before laying and she did it for a day or two but hasn't done it at all today and I've never seen a lizard do this, unless they were getting busy. 😅

That's good that she had a drink. The important thing now is to be patient and wait for her to lay. Do you have a few pics of the laybox ?

We're using... reptisand, I think.? Some actual reptile specific sand, I can't remember the brand. The box is about 5 inches deep and she goes in and out of it all of the time. We tried the topsoil so she can make a real burrow for any eggs and she did not like it. She refused to go into it and her beard was black and she refused to leave her hide until we put just some sand in it.

And that piece of wood usually sits propped up in the back, like a little platform for her, but she keeps knocking it over.

If you're going to use a shallow box like that it's best to keep the lid on and cut one corner of the lid out as an entrance as I have in my picture here. I'd suggest twice as much sand, add about 1-2 cups water and of course mix it well so that it has a much more firm consistency and can be molded to a degree. I used this for years, placing a log next to it for access but I would also set the girls in myself. They may go back out and dig around the enclosure as if not wanting the box but they ALL ended up laying in there in the end.

Dude, how is this becoming about food now ! Let's see I also like bkfst, lunch, dinner. Snacks in between SOME days. Big bowl of oatmeal/raisins walnuts, strawberry, blueberry + local honey for bkfst OR french toast with or w/out same berries and with real maple syrup. Maybe coffee.

Lunch is.....O/K, getting carried away. Maybe start a thread in the off topic forum to talk about OUR fave foods as the b.d. keepers. :D:coffee:🥑🍓🍉🍕🌮🍲

We tried that originally, it's got about three inches of sand in it, it just doesn't look like much because of the angle. But she had a complete meltdown. She wouldn't go near it, wouldn't really get off her hide and was black beard and a dark back the whole time. She acted like I kicked her or something 😅 but it all stopped a week and a half later when we just put sand in it. We've tried a few times over the last few years and she just.. doesn't like it, for some reason. She digs in the sandbox as it is now but she's never laid a clutch before. She's over 2 and if she lays this time, it'll be her first. She has follicles but ends up absorbing them within a few weeks.

Yes this is all sand. There were times I used a sand/soil mix [ you have to change it once in a while after they laid the eggs for sanitary reasons ] but not in this pic, it's all sand. So you're not sure she's gravid ?

The vet said she had follicles last week that weren't there a month ago but can't tell how formed they are because of her fat. And for about two or three days, she'd periodically do that wiggle thing I showed you, but she hasn't done it at all today and has been running back and forth frantically and glass surfing and all that. But any other time she's had follicles, she's reabsorbed them everytime. So I guess I don't know what to make of it.

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
bro went to bed already, it’s 10:36 pm
Definitely going to be using this image if I ever catch a fence lizard again.
