I am really worried: yesterday my beardie (about 7 months old) had a wet and absolutely colorless "poop". Its almost like he "urinated" because I didn't even notice it at first and thought he didn't poo at all. I only noticed it after I saw the white urate part sticking out. Is this parasites? I am thinking to take a fecal sample to the vet, but how can I even take a sample if his poop continues to be like that (i.e. there is NO poop, just water)? About his setup: he is currently in a 40 gallon with alfalfa substrate, basking temps around 110 degrees and Zilla Desert 50 UVB. I know its not ideal, BUT this weekend I am planning to move him into a new 75 gallon with tiles and the ReptiSun 10.0 is on its way. I feed him superworms in the morning and dusted crickets in the evening. If you need more detail, please let me know. I hope he's not sick
Hi there....all beardies can have one of those watery ones every once in a while, it's usually nothing bad unless it continues. How big is your dragon by the way ? And it would be good to throw out the alfalfa pellets even if you don't have your new set up, just use newspaper for now.
Last time I measured him he was about 16-17 inches (including tail) I believe.. Also, today in the morning I noticed he has gotten a little slim. Thanks for your reply. I really hope when I come home today his poop will be normal.
I was just thinking could this be from not basking enough? What are the consequences of not getting enough heat? I rarely see him bask, but than again, I am not home all day. Somebody else have any opinions/suggestions?
Just an update, in case somebody is having the same problem and is reading this thread. So Momo is in his new tank now, with tiles, and his poop is well formed, but there is lots of water around it, like actual water, not smelly. So from reading multiple threads on this forum I concluded that he is just very well hydrated and I should not be worried. Silly me..I thought it was diarrhea because I could not see the color of the liquid that was coming out of him, being that he was on alfalfa pellets. I do plan to do a test for parasites, nevertheless.
