Well I didn't see this coming, Stumpy.

So this Stumpy little scamp acted like a Komodo dragon to the store employees but melted your hearts with his immediate sweet adoration when he saw you + Christina. He knew.....who the soft hearted people were, with the endless supply of bugs [that would be fed in voluminous quantities ] where he would find his home. Who found who ? :D

But you guys have to let him eat his greens !! Be firm, and then those bugs looked like 1/4 of his body weight so try half that amount of bugs !!!

May I ask a question to improve my knowledge? Did I understand correctly that at 4.5 months of age you can offer about 10 small or middle roaches every day? It has always been unclear to me where the "golden line" is in feeding insects.

It's not a set amount, just not to allow them to get really stuffed at every meal. Power feeding keeps them gaining weight + size real fast but as they near adult size [ which they do at a very young age ] they have a hard time transitioning to smaller amounts and they also continue to gain weight even when the amount is reduced and once it's on it's sooo difficult to lose. Their kidneys + liver then may have to function overtime .

We didn't let him eat them all. He ate about 1/2 or a little more maybe. Zsa Zsa got the rest. He had the greens first, he ate a decent amout of them.

And yes he very much picked us 🙂 well Christina anyways he put on a show towards me also but settled right down for Christina.
When she got near his cage (she got there before I did) he came right to the front and went bonkers trying to get her attention. His little stump was all covered on dirt and looked horrible. She started crying a little, I knew instantly she would bring him home.

Yes, I know that overeating is not allowed and how important it is for health, so I always worry about not allowing it. But I have never seen any clear advice on how to understand that there is too much food. Usually I try to stop at the moment when Foxy thinks a little before grabbing another bug. And I know that after that he could eat about 1/3 more. How do you usually understand that the portion you give is enough?

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
