It definitely looks visibly blocked, but the vet said when they flushed it, nothing came out and she did say it was a bit swollen at the top. She's a little concerned because he's lost a gram or two in the last few days. She wants his basking spot upped a bit and wants us to make the tank he's in smaller, so he can't run around as much and even on days he's eating well, supplement with critical care.😮‍💨😮‍💨
It might not be a bad idea to run a heat emmiter at night for a while also.

That's what I was thinking. I have a heating pad that I use for the others sometimes, when they're real cold at night, when it's under a layer or two of a throw blanket, it gets just warm enough and I had him on that for awhile last night. I hate this is happening and hope it's not a reoccurring thing for him everytime his nose sheds..😮‍💨

Most lizards, when they panic, they bolt to hide. Not Fury. He runs to one of us, and will wedge up under us and then turn around, to curl up like a dog and hide. He is so sweet, he'd rather hide against us than anything else. 😂

This was at the vet. He started running down my chest and i put my hand to block him so he immediately curled up against my hand and tucked in real tight against me. 🥹🥺

Wow he is absolutely precious. None of mine have ever been that trusting so fast. It could be an uri from being shipped maybe and the shed is exaggerating it. If so keeping him a bit warmer at night might be beneficial.

Hello,

He is so sweet, he definitely loves you! How is he doing today?
I definitely agree, it would help to keep him a bit warmer overnight, just to help boost his immune system.

He is definitely so so sweet. He's so desperate to scratch his face. He's still struggling, I'm more and more convinced it's his shed blocking his nostril because the puff of air he does before opening his mouth comes out that nostril and the vet has tried flushing his nose but says nothing comes out and I took a tookpick to basically scrape at it, (I know, I know but he was thankfully very still) and it basically... popped open.? I made an opening and a bunch of fluid/saline came out and i almost had a piece that was sticking out but he jerked so i pulled away and scratched his face and a claw got caught in his nostril and made him bleed a little so I've left it alone. If only I had small enough tweezers, I could get down in it and get it because you can see there's something in it. His head has otherwise shed so I'm hoping the inside of the nostrils will shed very soon. I feel so bad he's struggling so much. You can zoom in and almost see that it's something absolutely blocking, maybe a little bit of swelling but that on the right side of his nostril doesn't look like swelling

I wonder if you could use one of those bulbs they use for cleaning out a babies nose and gently try to remove ut that way?]
It you try be gentle though, to much suction might injure him.

Ive tried and the opening is too big, I can kinda get some fluid, if it's right on the outside, but i think a majority of it is shed, because it's like.. "stuck".😮‍💨

Hello,

Poor thing, that is frustrating! I am not sure why he is having so much
trouble. You could try using a little bit of aloe vera rubbed on his nostril
very lightly, to see if that helps out.
Is he doing ok, otherwise?

When I look in his nose, it definitely looks clogged, like it's all hardened and stuff and I really think he needs something small enough to basically dig it out, but I know that's virtually impossible..he's been on the antibiotics for almost a week, I think, with no real change.

He's otherwise fine, still a little scared of everything and doesnt wanna eat much, maybe a few roaches, but is alert and active and super sweet

He'll settle in soon. At least he isn't getting worse. You guys have been through to much already.

I'm hoping that him not getting worse is a good thing. I've been taking him to have them give him his meds everyday and there hasn't been a change, one way or another. I'm hoping that once the outside of his nose starts to shed, the inside will come out with it but I'm also afraid there's so much built up, it'll be hard to get it out. I hate it for him cause he's so damn sweet. He doesn't wanna be in his tank, he wants to be curled up in our hands. He also does this thing where he'll close his eyes and go kinda limp and play dead, like really play dead and it's so damn funny.

They are such little characters.
No one would ever guess that a lizard could have such a big personality.

She thinks he has a tumor... she was flushing his nose and the like, chuck of scales, came away and is like, hanging on and there is some tissue underneath that shouldn't be and she doesn't know what it is, it could be some extra tissue he's just born with or a tumor or something... and we dont really have the money for more uga trips if it is cancer or if he needs surgery....so that's awesome.
