I have a baby bathtub for Drake, it seems to work the best b/c it has the slope and he can rest on that w/o having water all over him. However he keeps on swimming toward the middle part where it has the most water and wanting to swim and he's getting his ears wet. Is that ok? Lately he has not wanted to sit ont eh slopes he wants to be in the deep water.. I dont get why, he never use to...
I just need to know if the water getting in his ear is bad because if it is im not going to let him use this tub anymore
I have one that constantly goes "under" getting water in his ears. This hasn't caused any health issues, so I let him have his fun ! I do make sure to "dab" an absorbent towel around the ears, to get as much water as possible out of the ears, but normally this isn't but a drop, and he cocks his head to drain once out and on his towel.
Just keep an eye on that, and should he start having balance issues, then discontinue the practice.
Janie.
It's fine, they shake their head to get it out pretty much like we do. Most dragons like to dunk their heads underwater when they're swimming in the deep part so he's perfectly normal.
Oh phew, thank you guys so much, I really appericate it, I feel so much better now.
I remember last night at one time he made a lil noise like maybe he sneezed or something. lol thats when I tok him right out... and asked this.
He may have gotten a little water in his nose that made him sneeze.
I agree....you should have nothing to worry about. My beardie has been taking daily showers for years and gets water in her ears all the time. I have not had any issues as of yet.
If you see the water puddled around the inside of his ear, dab it with a towel like Janie suggested.
As for your little guy wanting to be in the deeper part of the tub.....sounds to me like he is getting use to bath time now and enjoying the swimming!
