OK so lara is shedding, Her orange feet are now white and little pieces of skin are coming off around her mouth and neck. Lately she has been obsessed with laying in her water bowl, but it isn't very big, she doesn't even fit in it. But if i take her out and put her in the tub to bath, she just wants out. she is in an 18'' deep tank, would it be smart to give her a tupper wear thing filled with water, not deep, but big enough so that she can actually fit herself in? She just keeps kncoking all the water out of her bowl and hten when i refill it, she tries to swim in it.
So tupperwear filled with about 3 - 4 inches of watter. or no ?
I would say only put maybe an inch, can be big enough but not deep. And take the water out at night. They sleep deeply and I would worry about drowning.
It would probably be easier to give her a bath in a large plastic container but rather than putting it in her tank, you could set it right in the bathtub or a large sink, that way you could add more water as it starts to cool off and would be much easier just dumping the water down the drain rather than trying to lift it out of her tank without spilling it. That way too, you can add enough water to cover her front legs so she can get a good soaking to help with all the shedding areas. Be sure to put a washcloth down in the bottom to help her feel more secure so that she doesn't slide around. How old is she?
