Hello, I saw my bearded dragons tail tip looked a little wonky and shedding felt lose. I was touching her tail tip pretty gently when part of it just came off. I removed the left over shedding and her tail tip seems normal. But it is weird because her tail tip is shorter than it was before. And at first it looked like it completely ripped off is that ok? The 4th picture is how her tail looks now. The 5th is how it looked before she shed it.

Also when I look into the part of the shedding that looks like her tail tip fell off it seems to have black and grey in it. And a lot of it is hard. But, her tail looks completely normal now so I’m not sure why it shed like that.

Also, the black I see looks very similar to his fingernails. And hard like it.

Do I do the honey only for one day? Or do I keep putting it on for a week or two. Also, is there anything I should do to prevent this from happening again? Thank you
I'm no expert but I think some causes for that are injury, incomplete shedding which is if a beardie doesn't shed properly, left over shed skin can tighten around the tail, which can cut off blood supply and cause parts of the tail to fall off. High humidity, dirty environments, or poor lighting can also cause parts of the tail to fall off. make sure the enclosure is clean, free of sharp objects and the humidity is correct. put the honey once or twice a day, until the tail looks healed or until ur vet says so

Hello,

Since the raw honey is not harmful, you can use it for a couple of weeks, to allow for full healing on that area.
The tail always seems to have trouble shedding, especially the tip of it. Just watch the end of it carefully when she is getting ready to shed & you can always be proactive & put some aloe vera gel on the tip of the tail.

Hello,

Her tail is healing up well now? When you get a chance, be sure to post some pictures of the tail so
we can see!

Tracie
I think her tail was already healed by the time I noticed her tip had fell off. I only saw it after she shedded. And her tail doesn’t have any open wounds or anything. It is also rounded off at the end which scales everywhere. Thank you!

Hello, I got aloe Vera gel for her tail tip. I tried to get 100% aloe Vera gel, but it still has a bunch of ingredients with it. Are these ingredients ok? Or should I get something else? Thank you!

Hello,

That is really not bad at all, the ingredients look
pretty normal for that type of gel. Everything in
it should be fine.
How is her tail tip looking now?
