That's up to the vet to decide. We're just encouraging an exam so an expert can have a look and determine if that is necessary or if another treatment would be appropriate. This is why we suggest working with a vet who has experience working with reptiles and dragons in particular.
It's good that it's healing well. Once it's healed over it shouldn't pose a problem going forward. Just keep an eye out for any further signs of shriveling.
It looks to me like it's healing pretty well. The bump may be swelling related to the shed which is normal but it shouldn't get any bigger so I'd keep a close on on it along with the tail tip for changes over the next few weeks.
