I had enough food in the tank for both of them! Lesson learned. I don't want a second beardie anymore. Why do they do that? I thought that the bigger one might be a mother to the smaller one.snazzyglasses":qrblzcw6 said:Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your new beardieEven when they're well-fed, beardies do tend to see smaller lizards as a snack unfortunately, like the above posters said

sad story. I was excited to have adopted a beardie today. He was a little baby. I placed him in a tank with my adult beardie. I went to Church and when I came back I could not find my little guy. The only explanation that I have is that my other beardie ate him. I hope this sad news helps others so they do not do the same mistake I did.

I'm not understanding in this situation as it was MY baby that got eaten today. Considering what they poor guy has been through with his smaller siblings beating him up a few months ago and healing from his injuries, I thought this would be a good and loving home for him. Now here I sit, hysterical and sent home from work because I'm horrified that my little man is dead, and all he can say is "I'm sorry.." "Oops..." ? Since this is a public site, I'm keeping a lot of this to myself as I respect the readers on here too much, but my baby was ripped in half, probably slowly, and eaten piece by piece. I'm so sick at myself for letting him go to a person who obviously did not research as "Don't house together" is typically the FIRST thing any care sheet says. Forgive me for those who aren't in my shoes, but look at your beardie and imagine him/her being quite literally being ripped to pieces when all you wanted to do was find him or her a good loving home. Ignorance kills.

I had 100% the same thoughts.
I mean yea its happened and unfortunately you cant to anything about it anymore, but ,and I dont mean to sound mean, the poster didnt even sound that upset about it.Like I would scream and cry and blame myself and would probably cry for like days.
Please, please gather information before(!!!) you buy a(baby) beardie so that stuff like this doesnt happen.I still remember a thread posted a few weeks ago which actually shows a baby being pulled out if a bigger beardie.I will never forget this.Soooo sad
