My wife and I just got our first bearded dragon. We have named him Handlebar.
We would like to put one of those backgrounds on the tank... but were wanting a custom image (like Portland cityscape for most of the year and something Australian Christmas-like for Christmas).
1. I just learned about stress spots and how vivarium changes can stress dragons out. Will that sort of change usually cause a problem?
2. Any suggestions on how to acquire these backgrounds? I don't want something that will ruin from the light, heat, or any other conditions (very poor aim when misting???)
So paper suggestions, lamination suggestions, printer suggestions, and adhesive suggestions are all welcomed.
A background shouldn't cause much stress for a dragon. I printed out my own backgrounds from vacation photos of the Australian bush land. I cropped re-sized photos so they'd print to the dimension of my tank (36x18 and 18x18) and brought them to a print shop and they printed them out on poster paper for me. I just taped the poster paper to the outside of the tank and it worked really well. I'm sure you could do this with any high res photo you'd like to use.
