Haha, I have a crested gecko named Gizmo! It's a very nice name. I like your enclosure, too! Everyone's are very cool and unique!

Possible a dumb question - but Ive only ever seen the glass vivs, so Im not sure what the purpose of the vents are on the wooden ones... I thought the point was to keep the heat in so the radiant temp was in the mid 100's...?

New to the wooden vivs look... so Im not totally lost on that part - Im wanting to make a viv myself and am scouring this forum for design ideas - have some conflicting designs but will figure it out soon.

A quick question about 'flooring'...

Every one says different things about the substrate - Im wondering what, if any issues would be if I were to use peel and stick tiles??? They are cheap, smooth, easy to clean, and can be gripped easily enough by the claws of a beardie as they are soft and easy to puncture.

Sooo any advice would be a great step in the right direction.

Thanks.

An expert will be along to correct me if I am wrong...but you don't want humidity to build up, they need air circulation to avoid that. With the glass aquariums, a screen on the top is used which allows ample air flow.

A wood viv will have top, sides, back and floor wood with glass door(s)...therefore it needs good ventilation :)

I am sooo happy we built!
