my baby beardy has been sick for the past couple of days at first i thought it was impaction so i started bathing him regularly and giving him baby food. he started pooping a little bit again yesterday but he still won't eat. today i woke up and his color was completely gone and i thought he was dead i took him to the hospital and they told me that there was nothing they could do but force feed him because he hadn't been eating and he'd lost over half his body weight. they said they couldn't test him because he is so small and dehydrated its impossible to get a blood sample. after this i get home from school and he looks even worse so i picked him up and put him by the heat light after a couple minutes he woke up and started running away i even got him to eat a phoenix worm after this. but i put him back down and he hid in the corner of his tank away from the light and started looking worse again. i gave him a bath and a tummy rub hopping to perk him up with the warms but he just locked up and refused to move now he's in some weird final position where is hands our under is chest and his feet are wrapped under him too. some one please help me this is my first beardy and i love him dearly
Poor little guy
Just give us some information about his set up please.Like temperature ,how you meassure them, how big is the tank, what kind of UVB are you using, whats your substrate? Maybe you can even post a picture of him and his enclosure.
Am I blind? I cant find the Dragon
What are you meassuring the temps with?
Also do you have a Repti sun 10 uvb tube or an arcadia 12% ? The correct uvb is VERY important and those two uvb brands are the only recommended ones.
i have a repisun ten and i have a prob thermomiter in the pic hes under the logs but i cant get one of him currently because im at the hospital with him and they took him to stabalizr
Ive read your other thread and honestly I cant find anything what could cause the problem.
You have the repti sun
You feed silkis which are really nutrious
He cant be dehydrated
He pooped
Well he could have parasites..but idk
And as long as your sure the temps are as high as your thermometer says that should be fine too.
Its weird. Im sorry I cant give you any advices. I can only cross my finger please keep us updated
You are using the Reptisun 10 tube bulb?
How much total wattage are you using for the basking spot/areas?
What type of thermometer do you use, a digital probe or temp gun?
Be sure to keep him hydrated with water & a mix of pedialyte to help him out if he is dehydrated.
Let us know how he is doing.
hes in the hopital now and was over night they have him in an incubator and there suspecting that he has a genetic condition that go worse as he got older
thank you all for your help percy has been confirmed to have the adenovirus which is apparently common for my area. the vet gives him a week at most to live with sportive care because he is so young and so small. we are waiting another day to see if he miraculously gets better but if not i have come to the decision to put him down and end his suffering. thank you again for trying to help.
