Hi. I have a resque bearded dragon but. Im completely new to this.. She was very sick and very small but shes been eating much better now. Eats real well. But hasn't grown at all? Ive been researching as hard as possible and i come up with maybe I have the incorrect uvb lighting? Right now I have a reptisun 10.0 mini compact bulb. Is it alright for now? I mean I feed her twice a day including greens and fruits. I give her crickets and worms except for meal worms. Am I doing it wrong?
Hi there....do you know how old she is ? What are you feeding her and are you using calcium supplements ? How big is she, over a foot long or under ? Some dragons that were severely neglected never really grow to full size, so that may be the case. And even though the bulb is not the best, it shouldn't affect her growth if she's eating well. That being said, you might still want to get a much better bulb....if you look to the right hand side of the page here there is an article on proper lighting that should help you out.
I hope that she does well for you whether she grows or not.
She gets a variety of food all worms except wax and meal. Crickets. Dubias. Greens fruits of sorts. Her fav treat is raisins. Yes i do have a multivitamin supplement and i gut load all feeders. Basically she was sick at petco it looked like infections from cricket bites and ive been slowling bringing her back to health. And from what I can tell she is 2 months old and sheds very little.
And oh she does. I love her so much. The petco places was trying to make me replace her and it about brought tears to my eyes. They are not refundable items and objects.
Oh, she is just a baby....I looked at your thread in the intro section just now. She looks very decent sized, just keep feeding her well and give it some time. Raisins may not be very good for her though since they are high sugar. It great that she likes greens though....your best kind are turnip, mustard, collard, dandelion and different types of squash as well. It's nice that you kind of rescued her. She will probably grow just fine.
