My dragon is getting very pale. I know that they turn a little pale before they start shedding, but she has been like this for several days and is not shedding at all. It started on her tail, then to the legs, which really didn't concern me, but now her face is very pale. She has not shed in a month or two. Is she just getting ready to break out of her skin or is it something else? I am posting two pics, one of how she normally looks and one where you can see how pale she is.
I took that pic this morning, before I turned her lamps on, so she was indeed a little cold. I keep it in the upper 80's/ lower 90's. She gets too hot above 92/3. Even though I have a cool side, she won't go to it. Just sits on her rock with her mouth open, lol. I did move her home next to the window so she could get more natural light from the sun. Thought maybe that was why she was turning pale, but she seems to love it there. Other than the paleness, she got really rosy (her happy color).
If she's not moving from her hot side it might not be to hot. She will know when she wants to be cooler, our girl loved above 100 while our guy hates the hotter temps. They are all so individual its great.
The window was our Lunas favorite spot she would look outside all day, didn't actually like being outside would stress her our but sure did love looking.

<<< when too warm , they can lighten up their colours to not absorb as much radiant heat.

Oh I know but if it was too hot it would move out of the light. All the beardies I've had would move out of the light once to hot, just because it regulates its temperatures through color and mouth gaping doesn't mean its too hot. Even Luna when she was sick was able to move out of the light when to hot. heck outside our guys will find shade when they get to hot.
Obviously I'm not an expert this is just based on my observation and discussions . I certainly don't want to argue cause I like all you guys and gals
