My beardie is female and approximately one year and 6 months old. She has always been very calm, just basking all day, eats good, etc. She never really moved around a lot, we always assumed she was just calm and laid back.
Last week all of a sudden she is very active, she jumps off her basking spot, waves her arms against the glass. She is very interested in what I am doing, my computer is in the same room as her viv, so she can see me.
I thought maybe she is looking for a spot to lay eggs, but her belly is very soft and squishy.
I recently started opening our blinds during the day in her room, maybe the added natural light in the room sparked something? Or maybe she can see things outside?
Wanted to add, when I reach in and scoop her out, she is still calm, so although she is more active, she hasnt become aggressive or skittish or anything (which would be a personality change for her). When I take her out and put her on my lap she is still.
No temp change, I changed the UVB bulb about a week ago. It was the same we always use (reptisun 10) just a new bulb.
Only other thing thats changed is, its spring, and I like to open the curtains and blinds to let sun inside, since everything outside is green and alive. I hate looking at bare trees in the winter, so everything is usually drawn then.
When we did the time change in the fall, I notice she got lazy and started getting sleepy earlier. This seems like the opposite.
MY Bad Bulb Maybe? I Can AlwaysTell MyUvb Is Getting Old Due To HimBeing Less Active. ALso If My Temps Get Low He Gets More Mello. NoTemp Change InYour Viv?
No temp change. My probe thermometer, and bulb have always been in the same spot....
Could have been a bad bulb I guess.....I noticed when I changed her bulb this time around, her colors got very bright, she hasnt shed, but she looks prettier.
