We took a road trip to the Vermilion cliffs this weekend, here are a few pictures 📷 from an AMAZING place.
The river is the Colorado, below Glen Canyon. It's located below Lake Powell and Page Arizona.
The whole area is stunningly beautiful. If any of you get a chance it's worth the visit and it's only a short drive on over to the Grand Canyon. 🙂

How beautiful it is there! Such space that it takes your breath away! Thanks for sharing these photos. If I were there, I would definitely get to the river to swim! :D

My guess is it would be a chilly swim 😀, the Colorado originates in the Colorado Rockys from snow pack melt. It is dammed extensively along the way so the surface warms, but generally the water coming through a dam is around 50 to 55 degrees so it's still pretty cool 🙂 .... I love water and water related activities so I'd be jumping in right with ya lol 😉 😄

If it's a really hot day, 55 degrees definitely won't scare me. I like a cool body of water on a hot day.

Very nice :) Thank you for sharing!
I wish I could could take everyone on our adventures. There is so much natural beauty in the world 🌎 and a lot of people are just so busy with day to day life that they forget to slow down and enjoy it.
Most every weekend Christina and I range out to a 600 to 800 mile radius from home. Every dirt road, every trail, every wash, every foot path, those are our playground. Most people are afraid of getting lost, we TRY to get lost. We will literally turn off the main road and 4 wheel through the deserts or creeks or over the mountains just to see whats there 🙂

Some times we find ourselves in places that are quite questionable 🤔 lol 😆

Well at least we'll go out having fun 🙃 😁
I really do wish I could load everyone up to go with us.
I'm in no way trying to brag, but we have been to the farthest piont south and east you can go without getting wet (mile zero in the keys) all the way to the farthest north and west (Cape Flattery), we have swam with dolphins and sharks on the east coast and stood on a craggy basalt ledge in the fog and rain and watched whales breach in the Pacific Northwest. We have hiked into the lava tubes in Mt. Saint Helen and been on every major mountain in the continental U.S.
I wish I could share that with everyone.

We are also going hiking a lot - currently Atacama desert and Pagatonia. Previously, in the U.S., explored the national park and made others wonder how far one can hike in a day. (Yes, we hiked a marathon, so to say.)

In addition, because of my job I often travel to remote areas, and usually have a day or two off. This weekends I was in the mountains surrounding Marrakech :) (Oukaïmeden, I was at the observatory. Went hiking in my free time.)
I'm writing this from the airport on my way back, layover in Madrid, and then a lo(ooo)ng flight to Santiago de Chile overnight, then my connection in Chile, and home.
Most people are afraid of getting lost, we TRY to get lost.
i'm also quite fearless. With the right equipment, and off!
I have a laptop sticker, saying "Going to the woods is going home" (but could also be "going to the desert...").
I just couldn't do differently :) And that's the reason I enjoy posting showing where others have been.

Kindred spirits 🙂
Living in Las Vegas there is always something to do and we do that some, but our best days are when we are 200 miles from the nearest gas station. I know of a lot of places here where you can spend days and never see another person. I also know several places with signs that say next services 200 miles. Those are my favorite 🙂

I would love to join you on your hikes! In our family, everyone easily agrees to any adventure. I am sure that if we lived closer, we would visit all the remote corners. You have very beautiful nature, for me it is also exotic. Therefore, when you post photos, you are our eyes that allow us to see all this.

We are out and about most weekends, I'll try to keep up with photos of where we go.
Christina and I both try to inspire people to get out and explore, if something as simple as posting a few pictures do that, then it makes me happy 😊
No matter what anyones religion belief system is, I think we can all agree that while we are here we should try to make the absolute most of it 🙂 natural beauty is universal 🙂

When we went hiking in Joshua Tree, we were really surprised that most hikers (?) are around the parking lots, and walking out an hour, nobody anymore. I had, honestly, thought many more hike the longer distances, but no.
But good for us - we like the "never see another person". Best holidays are for us: Book a cabin or a family-run B&B, and then go hiking each day.
I personally could not go with the "city sightseeing holiday" or "spa holiday". Once in a while a bit city is nice, but rather keep it for a day - and probably we end up in a museum. But really, holidays or long weekend, that's nature.

What I found funny: While hiking at Oukaïmeden, I took some photos also with my phone (normally, prefer my camera). It then showed "similar photos" and for that it showed photos of Taco's tank :D Likely it had selected those over the ones we took while hiking in the Atacama, as Oukaïmeden has some rough shrubs (and Taco's tank has plants that can keep up with desert conditions), and at least the part of the Atacama where we are has no plants. No plants, zero. But not that far away from us is a place where cacti grow in the desert, and I plan going there when I have a few days off around February.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
