I just got a 40 gallon tank for my baby beardie Ollie upgraded from a 10 gallon I had him in for about a week. I know it's not recommended but I had no choice but to use a compact UVB bulb and am now looking to upgrade his lights so my question is can I use a arcadia t5 12% light on my 40 gallon tank I would have it sit on the top and it will be around 8-9 inches from the highest spot. I've read that it should be 12 inches mounted inside but on top I'm wondering since it blocks some of the UV would I be able to use it with no health issues.. new beardie owner her please help me keep my boy healthy .

It depends on the screen - screens always determine where a uvb needs to go- please post a pic of the screen

Here is a pic of his set up also so you can see the distance from the light.. he likes to chill on his lil temple in the center most of the day

How much water should I be giving my bearded dragon? He will only drink from a dropper when I drop on his nose and I’m not sure if I should give it to him until he won’t drink anymore? Or should I stop after he’s had a certain amount?
Just want to check that if my beardie is ok I managed to get a video of him yawning today and screenshot him with his mouth open does he have mouth rot???
