I have a 24 inch arcadia 12% T5 in 4x2x2 enclosure. I have read that a need the light to cover 2/3 of the tank. Do I need to upgrade to a 36 inch fixture or is my 24 inch okay?
TLDR: 24" is good.
24'' T5's are what I recommend for 4x2x2's. UV is important, but it's also dangerous. Having a 24" allows for there to be "shade" areas (low - 0 UV) in the tank. Being able to escape UV is just as important as having strong enough UV.

As long as your dragon is basking and having a cooler sides to go to like one spot 80's and another area in the 90's is good --Thanks..another quick question. Is is okay for the hottest basking spot to be in the middle of the tank or should it be off to one side to create a gradual shift from hot to cool? Here is a pic. Does it look okay or should I move the lighting?
