recently i made a mistake and bought the wrong bulb for my beardie. i am a newbie owner, so honest mistake.
i bought a compact/coil bulb, thinking it was the right one when it wasnt.
until i can get a proper tube and a fixture that will fit said tube (my current hood is only 12''), is no uvb better than concentrated uvb? if it would be better not to use it at all, what are some alternatives until i can afford to buy a new bulb and hood?
i've posted my problem in other subforums too, because i wasnt sure which this would go under or where i would get the fastest reply. my apologies for the repetition!!
How old is your dragon? Older dragons can go longer without UVB than babies. The best thing you can do is bring him outside for natural sunlight if the weather permits. Even a limited period outside provides better, more well rounded exposure than artificial lights can provide.

i'd guess hes around 8 or 9 weeks - hes not very big.
should i stop using the uvb coil all together and just bring him outside until i can get a tube? i take it using the bulb i have now does more harm than good having it on.
Yeah 7 hours won't cause harm even in a little guy. If you can bring him outside for a bit, that's great. If not, that's OK too if you're getting a different bulb soon.
