I had the UVB light in the middle of the tank but she was never under it as her favorite basking spot was off to the side. I moved directly over her hot spot. Does it matter where the UVB fixture is? Should it be over main her basking area or was it fine in the middle?
I have a 24" fixture, offset so that it does cover Thors entire basking spot, but a little bit also on the cool side. That way he still gets his sun rays even if he wants to chill out. From the right side, the fixture is moved in about 10 inches, my idea is that it feels like a cloudy day on his cool side.
It's weird, I moved it directly over her main basking area and she didn't seem to care for it. I came home and she had actually moved her basking furniture out of the corner. When it's in the middle of the tank, she doesn't seem to want to spend much time under it. Has anybody else had a dragon that would avoid the UVB light? If she needs it will she seek it out her self? If she's not directly under it, is she still getting some benefit from it?
