Does my bearded dragon have a URI?

I live in Japan, where reptiles are not popular.

There aren't many places where you can see reptiles.

I get the medicine from a veterinarian who specializes in reptiles.

How long does it take for a URI to heal?

The vet and I agreed that insects should be given once a week. I gave him insects and pellets. On other days he gets vegetables. Will he still get bigger? I'm starting to get worried. The other two bearded dragons are fine and not sick.
Babies need protein every day till a year old - a good balanced diet of insects /worms for treats and salads will keep him from getting obese - adult dragons need salads every day treat worms 2-3 times per week along w/ a staple insect -- please NO pellets!!!!!!!!! Fresh salads -- Nutrition Content
Please look this site over --- kale is a great staple so that info is outdated --

Okay. I'll try increasing the days and ratio of insects. Sorry. I'll stop the pellets. I've seen this in baths and lights but this is the first time I've seen this. Thank you.

This is a bit off topic, but when I look at Instagram and other social media, I see that bearded dragons in Japan die at 1-5 years old, and sometimes die from neurological disorders. I wonder if there is an imbalance in vitamins and minerals? I will stop giving them pellets because they have no moisture.

The most important thing in a dragons tank is surface basking temps and UVB --- with that all on par the dragon will thrive providing he doesnt have other health issues we cannot see -- neurological issues come from incorrect UVB meaning NO coils ------------ pellets dry the dragon out unless your watering them before feeding - fresh salads rinsed before serving will provide hydration along w/ gut loading the insects before feeding --

I checked the temperature in the basking spot and it was 95°F. It was under a power sun.

Thank you. I will rebuild the enclosure. I will use this site and the ZooMed care sheets as a reference. I will look at this site more.

If your dragon is under 6 months you want that temp 105-110 - 95-100 for 6 months and up

If possible, please let me know. @KarrieRee , what do you use for basking? I use a power sun and a carbon heater. Carbon heater 80w Power sun 80w. Combining the two, I can only get 95°F.
MVB' are known for putting out good heat - the wattage is not high enough --- what is a carbon heater? Is that outside the tank? I use Flukers basking bulbs -- other ones I have used are Exo Terra Intense bulbs they are more spendy -- https://www.amazon.com/Flukers-Basking-Spotlight-Bulbs-Reptiles/dp/B0006L2UC4?th=1

It's the same as this. https://a.co/d/0bw25Xsh It's the one that only emits heat. I also have an exoterra 100w basking light! Or I'll use a 100w power sun.

Fluker's can also be purchased from Amazon Japan.

Hello,

I'm not sure why the life span of bearded dragons in captivity in Japan is 5 years or less. It's possible
that there is some inbreeding perhaps, not sure. Environmental issues play a role in longevity & in
health.
How many insects are you planning on feeding him, weekly?

Hello. That may be true. Before, I fed them once a week, just like the other two. I fed them once a week, once for the 10. They were given vegetables and pellets.

I'm trying to improve that now. I'm going to eat insects 4 times a week. I haven't decided how many. I'm going to let them eat as much as they want.

I would throw in some treat worms they are horn worms -- meal worms not for babies I would wait till around a yr old-- super worms -- butter worms -- you can feed around 1-3 of them just be aware horn worms grow really fast so I would feed them off right away till gone- like every day and I would get small quantity of them say 12 or so and feed two per day -- order smalls for babies and maybe medium for a larger dragon

I will take this into consideration. Thank you.
Size is important. The worms will arrive tomorrow or the day after!

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
